ALI uses the the Google AJAX Feed API.

Pros:

• access RSS/Atom feeds on the client-side
• feed caching on google server

Cons:

• a maximum of 8 topics per feed can be displayed
• for each feed displayed an own DOM manipulation has to be implemented
